Create a menu for your blog

When created, your Hypotheses blog does not display a navigation menu (with some graphic themes, a default menu exists which automatically provides links to the different pages in your blog). This element is however central in order to guide your readers and allow them to easily access the various contents published on your blog.

To create a new menu, go to your blog dashboard > Appearance > Menus > Create a new menu.

Start by naming your menu in the “Menu name” field (this name will never be displayed publicly) and then click on “Create a menu”.

You can then choose in the left column the pages, categories but also the links you want to add to the menu (concerning pages and categories, you must have created these elements before adding them to your menu).

Your menu will not appear on your blog until you have associated a location with it. Choose a location from those available in the “Menu Settings” area and save your menu. It now appears in the chosen location on your blog. The location choices vary depending on the graphic theme you are using.

You can change the order of the elements and create drop-down submenus using simple “drag and drop”. Don’t forget to click on “Save menu” once you have made your changes.

You can create as many menus as you want. Only a limited number of them can be displayed on your blog, depending on the graphic theme used.
